STEM exploration trip with Prairie Hills

Exposing students to different careers and pathways is a dedicated mission at 3 Seeds Mentoring Group. This year, we wanted to make sure students experienced the joys of STEM in a fun and interactive way. Our STEM trips for our middle schoolers provided an opportunity for students to get a deeper understanding of STEM while having fun at the same time.

On September 18th, 2019, 3 Seeds Mentoring Group and 28 students from Southwood Middle School attended a STEM Presentation and exhibition at IFLY Indoor Skydiving in Rosemont, Illinois. During this visit, attended lab where they learned about the importance of physics and how it impacts our daily lives. After the lab, students watched a physics demonstration in the wind turbine, afterwards students also had the opportunity to indoor skydive with a trained professional.

On September 25th, 2019, 3 Seeds Mentoring Group and 34 students from Prairie Hills Junior High took a visit to the Museum of Science and Industry. At the Museum of Science and Industry, our students attended the wired to wear exhibit, in which students were able to attend the first ever exhibit dedicated to wearable technology and smart clothing. Also, during our visit students viewed other attractions like the Science Storms, Mirror Maze and other exhibits….
